Punch Clock / Timesheet app

40.5 h

Sep 14 – 20, 20 shifts, 2.5 hours of overtime, $1,085.50

A timesheet app that does the pay math for you.

Punch in and out as you work. When the pay period ends, export a timesheet your manager or client can read at a glance, with breaks, overtime and pay already worked out.

What's on the timesheet

Every export uses the same pay math as the app, so the PDF, the Excel file, the CSV and the number on your clock screen all agree to the cent.

ColumnWhat it holds
DateThe day the shift started, with the year
JobWhich job or client the shift was for
In and outPunch times. A shift that ends after midnight is marked with its end date
BreakUnpaid break taken off, if you use break rules (Pro)
Regular and OTHours split by your overtime rules (Pro)
PayThe shift's pay, including any overtime premium, so the rows add up to the total

The PDF groups shifts by day with a subtotal for each, ends with the period totals, and has lines for your signature and an approved-by signature. The header carries your name and your employer's, set once in Settings. Long periods run onto more pages with the header repeated, and there's no cap on rows.

Four formats, for four kinds of reader

  • PDF (Pro) for a manager, a payroll office or your own records.
  • Excel (Pro) with real date, time and number cells, hours both as decimals and as h:mm, and a totals row, so formulas work the moment you open it.
  • CSV (free) with ISO dates, job, regular and overtime hours and currency, for any spreadsheet or payroll import.
  • Text (free) for pasting into a message or email.

Files are named for what they are, for example Timesheet – Jordan Reyes – 2026-09-14–2026-09-20.pdf.

Pay periods that match your paycheck

With Pro, tell Punch Clock how you're paid and when a period starts: weekly, every 2 weeks, twice a month or monthly. The timesheet then offers this and last pay period as one-tap ranges, next to this and last week, this month and a custom range.

A shift belongs to the period it started in. A Sunday night shift that ends on Monday is on the timesheet for the week it began, and never on two timesheets. Overtime is always worked out over the whole workweek, even when the range you export covers only part of it.

How to send a timesheet

  1. Open Reports and choose Timesheet, or tap PDF on the Weekly Pay Summary.
  2. Pick the range and the jobs.
  3. Pick the format and tap Export. Share it by email, Messages, AirDrop or Files, or save it on your Mac.

Freelancing? The same sheet has a Create invoice action that turns the shifts into an invoice for the client. See how invoicing works.

Fixing mistakes before you send

Forgot to punch in? Add the shift in the Day view. Forgot to punch out? Punch Clock reminds you after 10 hours, and if a shift is still open next time you open the app, it asks for the real end time instead of guessing. Any entry can be edited afterwards.

Free or Pro

CSV and text timesheets are free, always, with pay at your hourly rate. PDF and Excel timesheets, and overtime, break, rounding and pay-period rules, are part of Pro: $4.99 a month, $29.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or $49.99 once. On a new install, the free version shows the last 14 days of history; older shifts are kept and can still be exported for free.
